No one intentionally decides to self-sabotage, despite the temptation of chocolate cake while on a diet, scrolling on your phone instead of working on your business goal, or picking an unnecessary fight with your beloved.

Why then do we sometimes chronically execute these destructive behaviors?

Itโ€™s common for insecurities and self-limiting beliefs to surface when we approach something we truly desire.

If self-sabotage is detrimental, why repeat it?

Simply put, what gets rewarded gets repeated. Sabotage fills a need or void of some kind. To stop the cycle of destructive behavior, we need to discover the void and learn new behaviors.
